Istanbul Fringe Festival turns 7!

Istanbul Fringe Festival 2025 will take place from September 19 to 27, bringing together art lovers from around the world!

This year, the festival will once again host a vibrant program featuring dance, performance, and theatre shows, alongside workshops, talks, and parties. Celebrating its 7th edition, the festival will showcase 10 local and 10 international performances, offering a multidisciplinary and multicultural experience to all participants.

While providing a physical platform for both local and international artists to present their work, the festival continues to foster interaction and collaboration between artists and audiences. Throughout this unique week filled with workshops, parties, and talks, participants will have the chance to build new artistic connections, explore diverse forms of expression, and enjoy an inspiring experience!

FRINGE; BEYOND LIMITS AND BORDERS, DISCOVERING THE ALTERNATIVE.

In Latin, the verb "fringere" means to break in order to break outwards. When we are inside something that surrounds us, to open it outwards, to create a crack through which light can enter. To go outward, into the open air, towards the other. Creating an act of going outwards, and in doing so allowing the outside to come in. Breaking the circle, jumping over the barriers.

ISTANBUL FRINGE festIval PREVIOUS YEARS

Organized for the first time in Turkey in 2019, Istanbul Fringe Festival offers a unique platform and festival experience in the field of performing arts to the city by bringing together innovative and creative works from all over the World and Turkey in the disciplines of theatre, dance and performance.

In a short period of time Istanbul Fringe Festival managed to become a unique and reputable performing arts festival of the city, blending unique dynamics of Istanbul art scene with innovative works of emerging artists from all around the world.

Throughout 6 years, Istanbul Fringe has reached an audience of more than 50.000 spectators and brought more than 500 artists to meet up with them. Each year festival hosts 15 international and 5 local performing arts shows, in various venues all around Istanbul. Besides shows, festival also hosts workshops, panels, artist talks and diverse other events in order to contribute to share of knowledge and views in the field of performing arts.
